Linda Denise Blair


Linda Denise Blair (born January 22, 1959) is an American actress. Blair is best known for her role as the possessed child, Regan, in the film The Exorcist (1973), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and two Golden Globes, winning one. She reprised her role in Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). lindablair4 Blair has since worked in numerous films, including the Exorcist spoof, Repossessed (1990), and a cameo role in Scream (1996). In 1997, she appeared in a Broadway revival of Grease. She was cast as a regular in the BBC television show, L.A. 7 (2000). She hosted Fox Family’s Scariest Places on Earth (2000-6). Blair has become an animal rights activist and humanitarian, working with PETA, Feed The Children, Variety, the Children’s Charity and other organizations. Blair also devotes time to her non-profit organization, the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, which works to rescue abused, neglected and mistreated animals. She is a vegan, and has co-authored the book Going Vegan!. In 2010 she appeared as herself on the cable series Pit Boss and Jury Duty. She appears in the 2011 Rick Springfield documentary Affair of the Heart, and was a panelist in a 2011 episode of The Joy Behar Show. Called upon with honors, Blair appeared at a pre-taped 84th Academy Awards ceremony honoring make-up artist Dick Smith. Smith created the iconic make-up for Blair in The Exorcist, as well as scores of other films.

He has been nominated for several notable film awards, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his critically acclaimed performance in The Lovely Bones (2009). He also has won an Emmy for his performance in Winchell, and has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for Children – “The One And Only Shrek”.

That same year, Tucci portrayed George Harvey, a pedophile and serial killer of young girls, in The Lovely Bones, Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Alice Sebold’s novel, for which he received high critical praise and Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. To prepare for the role, he consulted with retired FBI profiler John Douglas.In 2010, Tucci directed a revival of the Ken Ludwig play Lend Me a Tenor on Broadway, starring Tony Shalhoub.

Tucci played Dr. Abraham Erskine in Captain America: The First Avenger.In July 2010, it was announced that Tucci will direct an upcoming comedy entitled Mommy & Me starring Meryl Streep and Tina Fey as mother and daughter.

In the 2011 movie Margin Call, Stanley Tucci portrayed Eric Dale, one of the fired employees who works in risk management.In February 2011 it was reported that Tucci had been cast as the villain in Jack the Giant Killer.On May 9, 2011, it was announced that Tucci will play the role of Caesar Flickerman in the upcoming The Hunger Games film. On May 15, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Tucci also has joined the cast of Gambit, a remake of a 1966 film, which stars Colin Firth.
